Voluntary Excess Program Renewal Opening May 5th
Each year, CLIA receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from our Voluntary Excess Program (VEP) customers about the ease of our renewal process. This gave firms that little extra time to complete our easy and convenient online application before the distraction of summer vacation. So this year we are opening again on May 5th!

CLIA recognizes the importance of promoting wellness for the profession. To help, we have compiled a repository of wellness resources based on the findings of the National Study on the Health and Wellness Determinants of Legal Professionals in Canada prepared by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Université de Sherbrooke.
Wellness Toolkit Launch
As noted by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, “legal professionals are at higher risk of experiencing stress, anxiety, depression and substance use than are other professionals”. We also know that many claims result from wellness issues. As such, CLIA recognizes the importance of promoting wellness for the profession.

Importance of Early Reporting
We can’t stress enough the importance of early reporting of a claim or potential claim. Your CLIA Policy and Code of Professional Conduct require you to report a claim or potential claim as soon as practicable after learning of a claim or becoming aware of circumstances that might give rise to a claim, however unmeritorious. Failure to report in a timely fashion can jeopardize your coverage. Late reporting also makes the handling and resolution of a claim more difficult.
